Here I sit, on my bed in my room in my "Chris Madden" Robe that makes me feel rich and pampered. I am taking a day break, I should be doing laundry and cleaning house but David will be gone all day Saturday so I am going to take today to do nothing and try not to feel guilty about it tonight.
I have started out my day by having a creme brule and take a long relaxing shower!
The kids are all home from school, but they are entertaining themselves in Richelle's room selling their toys to each other.
This week we moved all the toys upstairs to the kids rooms and made the family room more of a den /media room. It has 3 desks with the computers on them a sofa, cabinet and the entertainment center in it. It looks especially like a study room when my laptop is sitting on my desk and Phillip is playing with the "little lap top" because four computers in one room looks like someone should be studying. I also moved the beds around in the boys room. Dallin and Phillip also swithced which part of their rooms they sleep in. Dallin now has the slanted ceilling part and Phillip is in the room by the door.
I like having the toys upstairs because now when the kids are getting ready for school they can't get toys out and me have to put them away before I leave for the day. I watch 2 kids before school and they can now choose to sit and read or play on the Internet while they wait for the bus to come.
David and I got new bedding for our room. I love the change. It is yellow/gold, green peach and tan colors. We finally changed the drapes in our room from the floral blue that they were when we bought the house. Now there is a valance that matches the bed. I am looking for an old bench or cheap chair that I can cover with material to go with the bed so that David has a place to sit and remove his dirty clothes rather than get his dirt on our bed. I also want to cover the lamp shade to match and make a runner for both dressers. I would like to paint the dressers and night stand a dark color and distress it but David is having a hard time with the "paint" part so we will see how that goes. Dreams, dreams, dreams.
I have started to work nights. It is fun. I clean a private school on Bainbridge Island. Most of the time I clean it by myself and it is 5 hours of time that I listen to conference addresses on my MP3 player. I love it! I have been doing it for a month and a half and I can almost recite the talks with the general authorities. The extra money is nice too.
I also signed up to sell Mary Kay. We decided that it would be worth the investment to be able to get my own products at a discount. I got my first shipment yesterday. It was fun to go through. The catch - Now David has asked me to make sure to do my makeup everyday. He said he likes they way I act when I have taken the time to dress up myself. I guess he deserves it.
David and Dave turned in the final things for the lot division yesterday. We should hear back in 4 weeks if we did everything correctly and the lot is divided. Hopefully we did. At that time it will be ready for us to purchase the lad officially. YEAH!
Our next projects are building the chicken coup for the chickens that Phillip are getting and putting the fencing in along our property line. David collected nice cedar logs for the posts this summer while he was on burn pile duty and He has some good logs milled by a guy he works with so that we have some fencing materials at no cost! Yeah for job benefits!
I went with Richelle yesterday on a 4th Grade Field Trip. We went to release the salmon that they had hatched in the school's aquarium. True to Washington it rained the entire time we were out there. We started our first station with the kids planting trees and I thought, Why am I here and not David? The kids planted trees, found out about the bugs in the water, learned about testing the water for quality, and then we released the salmon. Some of those boys took their little cup with these precious salmon in them and threw the water in the air to release the salmon and I wondered if that one would make the flight!
Julie has gotten me hooked on Digital Scrap booking. I started with GIMP but after I shared it with Angela she found a program called Scrapbook Factory (found on Amazon.com). It is really very easy to use. I have created several pages with it. I am going to have a scrap booking party sometime. I guess I will set up two tables, one for those of my friends who do it the "messy way" and another for us to put our laptops on and create digitally.
When I got my hair cut the last time I found out about a product that I really love called "Curlz Rock". It is great for separating my curls and helping them look bouncy after I dry my hair.
Well, I guess I will have to break my relaxing experience for a while to make lunch for the kids.
