We had a fun time at Mt St Helens.
We learned a lot about our Motor Home that's for sure. We learned that they don't do well with steep grades and tight turns. After we got home we realized that we didn't see any other RV's on the road the entire trip to the Ape Caves and the Tale of Two Forests.
Phillip, Richelle and Dallin in the Ape Caves. It was so dark and cold down there. We took the easier hike and followed the cave until we were crawling to continue. We went as far as we could and then turned around and went back to the big hole in the ground where we entered the cave. When we got to the opening it felt like we were in the tropics because of the warmth outside and the moisture from the caves. It was pretty fun.
It was a nice hot day and the views were wonderful.

After the Ape Caves we went to the Tale of Two Forests where we saw the effects of the Lava on the surface. We were able to crawl through caves made by the lava covering charred trees and then solidifying. The charred trees are gone now and caves are left in their places. In some cased they are just big holes from the trees that were still standing when the lava solidified.
